TORTURE NO MORE!

June 26th is the date that the United Nations has marked as the International Day in Support of Survivors and Victims of Torture http://www.tortureawareness.org/">

As an individual...you and I can make a conscious effort to denounce such barbaric acts!...this day, spare a thought for the victims wherever u are. We must remember.."Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" said George Santayana. Torture in any forms...physical or oral must not be tolerated in this 21st century! In your own little circle...respect one another..regardless of race or religion...etc Let's work together to bring a better tomorrow for mankind!

At around 9 p.m. on September 1, 2003, several policemen from the Public Security Bureau in Fushun City, Liaoning Province broke into the home of Ms. Luo Jingyu in Qiandian Village, Shuncheng District. They arrested Ms. Luo and her three-year-old daughter, Chi Xing, and took them to the local forced brainwashing center.
The staff at the brainwashing center told her family, "They are all right in the class and they will be released as long as she writes a 'pledge' to renounce Falun Gong.” In ordered to force the practitioners to renounce their belief, the authorities tortured them. Three-year-old Chi Xing witnessed practitioners’ bodies covered with electric baton welts and bruises. She was forced to listen to the policemen shouting, and to the painful moaning of practitioners being tortured. She has been suffering from severe mental trauma ever since....

I had a post on my blog about the removal of organs from living (but imprisoned) Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The organ removal and sale (and subsequent death of the prisioners) received scant attention in te U.S. media as far as I can tell. Yet Americans are all shocked about torture in the name of war. I know, two wrongs don't make a right, but still, where's the outrage over the imprisonment and torture of Falun Gong adherants?

I recently read an article about child trafficking that said if it had involved puppies or other animals, U.S. celebrities would be all over it. The article said that people are strangely silent because the whole thought is so repugnant people can't even begin to process it.

Don't forget that the US government also uses torture, although they choose to define torture so narrowly that what they do is outside the definition. As a world leader and a so-called 'leader of the free world' it is important that the US right this now!

Falun Gong are a pretty unhealthy bunch...

I rate them right up there with peadophiles and pimps...

frankly, I don't care what happens to them in prison.

However, I would hate to think this happens to "regular" prisoneers.

It is an interesting underlining of the value of a human life. Some cultures place more value on the dignity and rights of a human being than others.

Sad to be sure.

By the way, as compelling as the accompanying image is, it is not a photograph.

As a UAE national with PhD in law I have to admit that Sheikh Mohamed has failed to put in place a transparent judiciary and has concentrated more on self PR by anouncing unrealistic projects and reading clever lines which secures his own ego problem. His family members treat the society like animals… they steal from foreign businessmen, threaten them, and some times using the famous state security even arrests them to reach their commercial goals.
it s sad that sheikh mohammed’ s brother in law sheikh hasher maktoum has stolen a multi billin dollar bussiness from a foreign investor just because he is related to sheikh mohammed. We have no human rights here, the judiciary is as corrupt as real estate, finance, immigration…. dubai is crashing
