Borned wicked?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
The infamous madam Marietta Musayelyan, i heard, was once a prominent figure at Club Cyclone Dubai...for human trafficking...young girls to be exact. Currently on the run? wanted by Interpol since 2003. Can anyone be borned wicked? or as claimed by the curvy Jessica in "Who framed Roger Rabbit?": Im not bad but just drawn that way...

The closest character that i can draw parallel to is Cathy...the madam of a whorehouse in the classic " East of Eden" by John Steinbeck.

In the beginning of the chapter where Cathy is introduced :

'I believe there are monsters born in the world to human
parents. Some you can see, misshapen and horrible, with huge
heads or tiny bodies; some are born with no arms, no legs,
some with three arms, some with tails or mouths in odd places.
They are accidents and no one's fault, as used to be thought.
Once they were considered the visible punishments for
concealed sins.
And just as there are physical monsters, can there not be
mental or psychic monsters born? The face and body may be
perfect, but if a twisted gene or a malformed egg can produce
physical monsters, may not the same process produce a
malformed soul?'

Madam Marietta is gone from the scene..but Club Cyclone is biz (pun) as per normal.

Sulawesi is weeping!

Tana Toraja

If u love diving...Sulawesi...in Indonesia, is one of the best spots in the world..crystal clear water...beautiful marine lives..the mystical Torajan burial..and the aromatic Torajan coffee...I love the place. So it is extremely sad to read that 3 christian teenage girls have been beheaded. The tension between christians and muslims is a never ending affair..or is it?
In contrast, Dubai is a blessed place...u have different nationalities from all over the world..different religions..cultures..social status..etc living and working side by side..etc tolerance is very important. And I also believe with the bigger vision of modernization and equal opportunities in place will keep all the unncessary bickerings at bay.

Its the economy stupid! In the name of pragmatism and to establish itself as the top news provider in the Middle East, the British Broadcasting Service (BBC) announced that it was expanding its services to the Middle East and creating a new BBC Arabic language cable channel. It is definitely a good way to engage the gulf countries with the rest of the world.I cannot sleep without atleast an hour or two listening to BBC daily.
However, opening this new venue means BBC has to closed 10 broadcasts around the world..mainly in eastern europe.

Penguin and Fidelity

Penguin and chick
Originally uploaded by Antarctic M.
When the french documentary "The March of the Penguins" was shown in USA earlier this year, it was hailed by many christian conservatives as a highly recommended movie with many fundamental christian lessons to be learnt...particularly the superiority of monogamy demonstrated by the emperor penguin. Alas, penguins, we learn, are monogamous, but only for one season. After that, it is thank you for the memory and sayonara forever. In fact...from reliable sources...the emperor penguin is also highly comfortable with similar sex. Anyway, i dont know why a certain kingfisher is so keen in this issue of fidelity among the penguins...different species really.

for a certain kingfisher....take flight quickly!

The newly appointed head of the United Nations unit (to tackle the bird flu issue) warned that a human flu pandemic could sweep the world and kill up to 150 million people unless immediate steps are taken to fight the bird flu crisis in Asia. The main cause could be the mutation of the bird flu virus and it could be passed from person to person.

Bird flu is largely caused by bird droppings and uncooked meat.

Found an interesting article for your consumption:

Article: How to Protect Your Family Against the Coming Pandemic - by John Hart

....There is no vaccine available. And there won't be for months. Probably six-to-twelve months. Maybe longer. Clinical trials take time. Usually a year. Then once it's available, the vaccine must be distributed worldwide. A logistical nightmare.
So what can you do to protect yourself and your family?
Three steps. And they should be done now, while the winds of pandemic are blowing in Southeast Asia.
1. Buy a supply of oseltamivir, the only antiviral available that seems to reduce the impact of the virus. It doesn't kill it, but it does give your body time to build immunity.
2. Buy the only filter mask that will block H5N1 and kill it dead -- no that mask is not the N95 series. You'd be wasting your money on a N95. Nanomask is the one I strongly recommend.
3. Buy a supply of immunolin, the only blood protein on the market that will strengthen your immune system against horrific challenges like H5N1.
You can wait for your government to come up with a solution to protect you, or you can become proactive. My family has already taken the three steps outlined above, I hope you will too.

Goodbye Joseph!

We scheduled to catch up two weeks ago..you sounded extremely feeble on the other end of the line..almost out of breath. I knew something wasn't right this time. The last time we met was one and the half year ago...i was shocked and commented you looked terrible..you refused to go for the chermo and insisted on using alternative medicine till the end. I respected your choice.
At the last moment, you cancelled the appointment...you were not well and you didn't want me to see your current state..in your words..you looked really terrible.
This evening at the wake service..i met your wife connie..i sensed a great burden lifted from her.
In the coffin...u looked rested...you were right..if i would have met you two weeks ago..it will surely break my heart.I feel sad and angry for you...still young and at the prime of your career...
Good rest joseph, my brother...will miss u alway!

The fury of mother earth is so incomprehensive..life is so fragile..30,000 lives gone. And winter is just roaming round the corner. Just hope and pray the rescue teams from all over the world can speed up the process..I need a cup of coffee for now..and hopefully that balushit guy do not give me another headache!

Paradise Lost...again?

In 2002, about 200 were killed in Bali..a despicable act by the JI extremists. Three years later, yesterday, they did it again...this time in Kuta area..more than 30 killed..and still counting.
Will Bali ever recovers again? I hope so..like the legendary Phoenix rising from the ashes!
Many fond memories of Bali..the beautiful sights, the people, the culture...etc It's a perfect place to chill out for urban dwellers who are on the verge of losing their bearing.
